Landscapes of New Jersey: Past, Present, and Future, Showcasing George Stave

Last fall, Roy Pedersen of Pedersen Gallery, Lambertville, New Jersey, approached the John F. Peto Studio Museum about staging an exhibition focusing on artist George Stave (1923-2011) and his plein air landscape paintings. The discovery that Stave also painted in the trompe l'oeil style was exciting because displaying some of these works would connect so well to our own artist, John F. Music Under the Stars: The Kootz

It’s the “Rock ‘n Roll with Fiber” world of this group of Jersey-guys and their ‘musical friends’ who just can’t seem to ‘retire their guitars’ and likely never will!  The collective passion for classic rock, pop, soul and blues and just ‘plain old making great music’ has been a driving force even a ‘mantra’ in assembling ‘The Kootz’ band. Bring your picnic baskets, refreshments, lawn chairs or rent a table and 6 chairs for $100. No advance tickets; donations appreciated.

Peto Presents…The Courts: Then and Now

How has the Judiciary evolved over the years to address emerging social issues, while remaining true to its core values of independence and fairness? With an emphasis on Criminal law, Judge Linda Baxter will discuss changes in the following areas: how juries are selected, the elimination of cash bail, the decision to try a juvenile as an adult, restricting the parole eligibility of violent offenders, the abolition of the death penalty, and efforts to rehabilitate drug-dependent defendants through Drug Court.
