Museum Accessibility
The welcome area and studio are accessible on the first floor. The second floor is not fully accessible for those with mobility impairments. However, with a two-week notice, works from an exhibit may be brought from an upstairs gallery to the accessible educational room and described and discussed by the Curator or a Docent.
Parking
Free parking is available on-street and off-street. A small limited-space parking lot is located on the North side of the building off Cedar Avenue. This parking lot provides one wheelchair-accessible space.
Entrance
Our main entrance includes an accessible ramp from the parking lot.
Touring the Museum
All tours are Docent-guided and are available Saturdays and Sundays at 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome, but it is recommended to schedule a tour before visiting. Private tours are also welcome and can be scheduled by calling 732.929.4949.
Service Dogs
Service dogs specially trained to assist a person are welcome.
Multilingual Resources for Visitors
For visitors who speak a language other than English, an interpreter can be arranged if needed (a two-week advance notice is required) by calling 732.929.4949.
Information for Visitors in a Wheelchair
There is one accessible restroom located on the first floor near the main entrance.
Second-floor galleries are not accessible; however, with a two-week notice, works from an exhibit may be brought from an upstairs gallery to the accessible welcome area and described and discussed by the Curator or a Docent.
Personal Attendants
Personal attendants of visitors with disabilities are admitted free of charge (limited to one attendant per visitor).
Blind and Visually Impaired Visitors
Upon request, large print materials and magnifiers can be provided.
Deaf and Hearing-Impaired Visitors
American Sign Language Interpreters are available free of charge, subject to the availability of an interpreter. An interpreter must be requested by phone at 732.929.4949 at least three weeks before the visit date. Visitors must reserve and pay for their museum admission before requesting an interpreter.
Text descriptions are located near most artifacts and artwork that are on display.
Assisted hearing devices are available upon request.
