Welcome to the fourth exhibition in the Riverbank Exhibition Hall at the John F. Peto Studio Museum: Still Life Meets Trompe L’oeil: The Art of Noticing.
The inspiration for this exhibit came from two sources: our visitors, who often ask if the trompe l’oeil Peto painting they are viewing is a still life, and artist Natalie Featherston, who holds that “all trompe l’oeil is still life, but not all still life is trompe l’oeil.” Thus, the wheels began to turn and an exhibit came together that could illustrate the differences and similarities between the two.
The Board of Trustees and the Arts Committee would like to thank the artists for sharing their beautiful works and talents for this informative and impressive exhibit. Our special gratitude to Mahbubeh Stave and her family for their continued support.
