Exhibit Opening: Saturday, April 2, 2022
You won’t want to miss this unique exhibition organized by Historic Artists’ Homes and Studios, A Program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
The exhibit is comprised of photographs of the artists whose homes, studios, and landscapes, now open as public sites, comprise the membership of the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s national consortium, the Historic Artists’ Homes and Studios Program (artistshomes.org). This group of forty-eight affiliated sites includes the John F. Peto Studio Museum.

A Beautiful Tribute
The John F. Peto Studio Museum’s second floor exhibition gallery has been dedicated to the memory of Alice Askoff.

We asked what they enjoy most about volunteering at the John F. Peto Studio Museum:
Colleen Kehler: “Of course, meeting new people and making extraordinary friendships has been a great perk of volunteering at the Peto Museum. But I must say that I’ve gotten tremendous satisfaction learning about John F. Peto and his family, his life in Island Heights, and his amazing trompe l’oeil paintings. And because of the many diverse exhibits we have had over the years, I have come to learn about and appreciate other artists as well, both past and present. I am so grateful to be a part of this treasure we have in my own hometown!”
Staying True to Peto’s Original Design
We are pleased to announce that our roof project has been completed. New cedar wood roof shingles have replaced the old roof on the upper rear south section of the building. Our new roof incorporates the original architectural design and will maintain the integrity of our beautiful building for many years to come. Stop by and take a look!
