Peto Presents: ÀNI Panel Discussion - Inspirations as Continuum

6/25/2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM ET

As part of the ongoing exhibition Inspirations: A Global Cascade of Influence - From Old Souvenirs to New Voices, Anthony Waichulis from ÀNI Art Academies will participate in a special panel discussion at the John F. Peto Studio Museum on June 25, 2026.

Titled "Inspirations as a Continuum," the discussion will explore how artistic influence can be cultivated without sacrificing individuality. Panelists will examine the role of structured training in the development of an artist's voice and discuss how mentorship, observation, and personal experience contribute to creative growth.

The event is part of the museum's Peto Presents lecture series, a monthly program that highlights topics in art and history through presentations and conversations with artists, educators, and scholars. During the discussion, ÀNI educators will share insights into the academy's approach to training, emphasizing how technical development and creative exploration work together to help artists build a strong visual language of their own.

The panel complements the exhibition Inspirations: A Global Cascade of Influence - From Old Souvenirs to New Voices, a landmark collaboration between the John F. Peto Studio Museum and ÀNI Art Academies. The exhibition brings together artwork from ÀNI artists across five countries, showcasing how inspiration can travel across generations, cultures, and disciplines while remaining deeply personal to each artist.
The discussion will take place on Thursday, June 25, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the John F. Peto Studio Museum in Island Heights, New Jersey. Visitors attending the event will also have the opportunity to view the exhibition, which remains on display through August 30, 2026.

This program embodies one important aspect of ÀNI’s educational mission: the pursuit of mastery is most meaningful when it serves the pursuit of one’s own inspiration.
