The museum frequently offers new and exciting programs such as new gallery exhibitions every Spring and Fall, our “Fridays at Peto” series, featuring guest lecturers with periodic topics of interest, University art student exhibitions, and “A Painting a Day” art course by Abby Ryan. The Women of Peto

In honor of the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, the Peto Museum of Island Heights will be highlighting the contributions of the Women of Peto, to include his daughter Helen (who was a watercolorist); Peto’s female students (including Emily Perkins); and art and artifacts of other Peto family members. The history of Peto’s granddaughter Joy Smiley’s life growing up in the Studio will also be explored, as will the works of some of the founding members of the Peto Museum – Jean Wetta and Alice Askoff.

Goldenberg Classical Music Ensemble


5/3/2020 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM ET

An afternoon concert of classical violin and piano featuring the brother-sister team of Susan and William Goldenberg at the home of Lynn and John Pendleton, 249 Ocean Avenue, Island Heights, on Sunday, May 2, from 4 PM to 6 PM.  Light refreshments will be served.  Cost is $30 for members | $35 for non-members. 

Susan Goldenberg is a violinist with the Kansas City Symphony.  William Goldenberg is a Distinguished Professor of Piano at Northern Illinois University.  The Goldenberg duo has toured in Asia, Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and has performed recently at the Smithsonian Museum of American Art.
